Now a day’s Wi-Fi is common for accessing internet. Most of us have Wi-Fi routers in our home or office, but sometime Wi-Fi range is not reachable in all our rooms or at some particular area of our home. Powerline Adapters play an important role in connecting those areas of our home or office with our Wi-Fi.
Resetting powerline Adapters
Sometime our tp link powerline adapter may not work properly and 192.168.0.1 setup configuration of our router is also not helping to resolve the connectivity problem then we need to reset our tp link powerline.
Steps to reset TP LINK Powerline Adapters
We can reset our powerline adapter in two situations (or two cases).
Situation 1 is for all the Ethernet PLC adapters whereas Situation 2 is for wireless PLC adapters such as TL-WPA271, TL-WPA281, TL-WPA4220, and TL-WPA2220.
Now we will see both situations in detail.
To describe the steps for this situation we take an example of TL-PA4010.
We need to connect the TL-PA4010 to a windows computer using an Ethernet cable and power it on.
Note: We cannot use the provided source CD on a Mac computer. For that we need to download the management utility for Mac OS.
Now insert the source CD in the computer or run the downloaded utility from TPLINK official website.
Now open the management utility and go to System. Now for resetting the device click on “Reset Local Device”.
For some old versions like TL-PA211 V1, TL-PA210 V1, and TL-PA201, the reset option is different. For this, while installing the management utility we need to open Main tab and click on Reset to reset our device.
For the wireless PLC adapters we need to use a pin to press and hold Reset button for approximately 10 seconds, this will restore our powerline adapter to factory defaults.
Note: After successfully resetting the PLC adapters to factory defaults, the network name of each one will come to its default as “Homeplug AV”. All the PLC adapters get connected to each other automatically with the same network name. so we don’t need to press the pair button for linking them.
